Our shoebox ministry emphasis for the month of April is for Boys and Girls ages 2–4. As you shop throughout the month, please keep these little ones in mind and consider donating age-appropriate items such as:

small toys, stuffed animals, dolls or soft baby dolls, picture books, coloring books, stickers, hair bows, combs/brushes, toothbrushes WITH covers, and other helpful necessities. Thank you for supporting this ministry and helping to share the love of Christ with children in need.

If you are an online shopper, go to Amazon and type in “Samaritans Purse Shoe Box Gifts”. Another source of ideas is Oriental Trading Company. Both websites will give you the opportunity to buy items in bulk.

Praise the Lord, and thank you, church family, for faithfully meeting our Annie Armstrong offering goal. Your generous gifts of $2,483.00, will help support missionaries as they carry the gospel throughout North America. Thank you for being a part of God’s work through missions.

We are pleased to introduce a Prayer Wall where our church family can share each other’s prayer requests and praises. Cards are provided for you to write down your requests, concerns, or thanksgivings to the Lord. May this be a place where we can bear one another’s burdens and rejoice together in God’s blessings.

Candy donations (no chocolate) are now being collected for our Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28th beginning at 1:00. If you’d like to help sweeten the day, please bring individually wrapped candy. Drop your donations in the basket in the vestibule and help us make sure every egg has a sweet surprise inside.

Since we missed our outing last month, the Wanderers are ready to wander again—this time to Logan’s in Fort Oglethorpe. Join us Thursday night, March 19th, as we make up for the missed meal with food and even better fellowship. The church van will depart at 5:00. Be sure to put your name on the reservation list.

It’s almost time for our Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Emphasis! April will be for children Ages 2-4. The month of May will be for children Ages 5-9. June we will focus on children Ages 10-14. Now is a great time to start thinking about items you may want to include in a shoebox. 

We’re getting ready for our Easter Egg Hunt on March 28th at 1:00, and we need a little help from our church to make it extra sweet! We’re collecting individually wrapped candy, no chocolate please, to fill all those colorful eggs. If you’d like to donate, please drop it in the basket in the vestibule. I’m sure Annita could also use a few helping hands to stuff eggs, hide them, and help during the event.

Are you hungry for a good home cooked meal? Do you need a good dose of Christian Fellowship? If you answered “yes”, then join us this Wednesday night, February 25th, at 6:00. Bring your favorite dish or dishes and your appetite. You won’t be disappointed.

What a joy it is to celebrate 53 wonderful years of marriage for Bro. Dean and Carol this week on Tuesday, February 17th. For more than five decades, they have walked hand in hand-serving the Lord and loving one another. Please take a moment today to congratulate them and let them know how much they are loved and appreciated.

This Sunday we pause to express our heartfelt gratitude to the brave men and women in our community who serve as law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMT’s, paramedics and all first responders. Day and night, they stand ready to protect, rescue, and care for others – often at great personal sacrifice. We thank God for those who serve with courage and compassion. May the Lord protect them, strengthen their families, and bless them richly for their faithful service.

“Give to everyone what you owe them…if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.”  Romans 13:7

Our church family extends sincere condolences to Roger and DeAnne in the death of Roger’s brother Ken Keys. May God’s peace and comfort surround the family in the days ahead. The flowers on the communion table are placed in his memory.

Please make plans to attend next Sunday’s Law Enforcement Honors service as we give thanks to God to honor those who serve our community with courage and dedication. Steve Graham’s band, New Grass Express, will be here to sing. There will be a covered dish lunch following the morning worship service. There will be NO Sunday morning Bible Study.

Wanderer’s Eating Trip this Thursday, January 22nd – a journey of flavor, and fellowship! We are headed to Bailey’s BBQ in Ringgold. The church van will load up and leave at 5:00. Don’t miss out on a true blessing, so get signed up in the vestibule.

Our Lottie Moon Christmas Card Post Office is officially open for the season! You can send Christmas cards to church families and support international missions at the same time. Each Christmas card “mailed” will cost you $0.50. Your money can be placed in the tin at the post office or in the Lottie Moon envelopes. All proceeds go to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Thank you for giving generously and spreading Christmas cheer!

Please note that our regular Wednesday Bible study service will not meet this week as we pause to celebrate Thanksgiving. We pray you enjoy a blessed holiday with family and friends.

We need your help! Come help load up our shoeboxes Thursday afternoon at 3:30. The caravan will then head to First Baptist Church in Ft O. After unloading our shoeboxes, we will travel down the road to Park Place to eat supper. This will be our Wanderer’s Trip for the month. You are welcome to meet us at Park Place around 5:00 to enjoy supper and fellowship. The sign up sheet is in the vestibule.

This week, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication have protected our freedoms and shaped our nation’s history. As we observe Veterans Day, let us take a moment to express our gratitude to all veterans.

We invite everyone to attend our upcoming Church Business Meeting on Wednesday night, November 5th at 6:00. This important meeting will include financial reports, and upcoming events. Your participation is important as we prayerfully plan and make decisions together. Please make every effort to attend!

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved church member, Ms. Sue Kennedy, who went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning. Ms. Sue was a cherished part of our church family and a blessing to all who knew her. Her love for God and others touched many lives, and her presence will be deeply missed. May God’s comfort, peace, and strength surround the family in the days ahead.

Next Sunday begins Daylight Saving Time — so be sure to set your clocks BACK one hour before you go to bed Saturday night! If you forget, you’ll be the first one to church by a whole hour! Enjoy the extra hour of sleep and we’ll see you on time next Sunday!

Today, we joyfully celebrate Pastor Dean’s 5-Year Anniversary of service here at Bethel Baptist. We give thanks to God for the unwavering dedication, spiritual guidance, and compassionate leadership that Pastor Dean has shared with our congregation.

Over the past five years, Pastor Dean has faithfully preached the Word, prayed for and with us, and walked alongside us through both joyful and challenging times. His heart for ministry and love for this church family has made a lasting impact. We are looking forward to many more years of growing together in Christ.

We are blessed to welcome the Turnmire Family this morning, Sunday June 29th, as they share their musical gifts with us in worship. May their songs uplift our hearts and bring glory to God!

We finally made it to the last of our monthly shoebox emphasis. This month we will focus on Boys & Girls ages 10-14. The last set of “flowers” have been added to the Nursery door. De Anne has also provided a master list, which can be found in the vestibule.

This Wednesday night, May 28th, will be our fellowship supper beginning at 6:00. We will have a cookout with the church providing the meat and buns. Please see DeAnne this morning to let her know what you would like to bring. Don’t forget those desserts!

Ready for good food and great fellowship? The Wanderer’s are headed to The Willow Tree in Summerville, Tuesday night May 20th. The church van will leave at 5:00. Don’t’ forget to get your name on the sign-up sheet in the vestibule. 

Help us fill shoeboxes with joy for Boys and Girls ages 5–9 around the world! We’re collecting small gifts and essentials to share God’s love in a very real, very fun way — one shoebox at a time. Pick a “flower” from the Nursery Door which has a specific need for this age group. Don’t like shopping? No problem! You can donate money, and we’ll shop for you — just mark your donation “Shoeboxes.” Let’s bless some 5–9-year-olds with gifts that bring giggles — and point them to Jesus. Because a little box can carry a whole lot of love.
